Athletes’ Academics Bolstered by LW School

The Living Water (LW) School, an accredited, NCAA approved online program, has developed a reputation for supporting and furthering the academic progress of athletes that enroll, even if they don’t play sports for us. How is this possible? See the three options below that are beneficial to athletes:

Option #1: Enroll at the Living Water School for academics and play sports at another school.*

Athletes love the adaptable and challenging nature of our program that allows them to graduate early and gives them a more flexible training schedule. Since the LWS’ academic program is online, its students are permitted to play sports for another school, just like students attending home school. 2024 LWS graduate, Madison, is a prime example of this scenario. She enrolled at our school in her senior year because of its rigorous and organized program. Yet she continued to play basketball for Shabach Christian Academy. Last year, Madison received a full 4 year scholarship to play basketball at Waldorf University in Iowa.

*Applicable only if the Living Water School does not offer that sport.

Option #2: Credit Recovery
A student in his senior year left his school to enroll in the Living Water School because he needed to retake classes that his school did not offer that semester. We customized his classes for him to meet his graduation requirements. He graduated from us this summer and will play football for West Liberty in the fall.

Option #3: Play for the Living Water School

While we are not a school that centers itself on athletics, we have had several student athletes in addition to Madison, receive scholarships to play basketball. In fact, 6 out of our 8 graduates this year received a partial or full college scholarship. We offer a range of services to our student athletes including the option of reclassing using our classical curriculum, customized course schedule, and ability to graduate early. We currently offer soccer, track, and flag football. We are rebuilding our basketball program.
