LWS Seeking Math Tutor

The Living Water School (LWS) is seeking a Virtual Math Tutor to join our team. If you are proficient in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and/or Geometry, have a passion for helping high school students strengthen their math skills, and possess strong communication skills, then we want to hear from you! LWS is a K-12, private school based in Alexandria, VA.

The school’s academic program is 100% online.

Responsibilities:

• Assist students with learning math concepts and help with test preparation
• Support and supplement classroom instruction
• Build meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds
• Instruct students via video chat
• Diagnose student needs through active listening techniques and questioning strategies

Qualifications:

• Completion of college-level math courses
  Thorough knowledge of a specific math course/subject and demonstrated excellence
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain challenging concepts, provide instructions and deliver feedback
• Ability to motivate and encourage students to improve their academic performance
• Creativity and flexibility to personalize learning approach for individual students
• Patience and compassion for students as they develop skills and improve their performance

Job Type: Contract (Part-time)

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Hours: 1-4 hours per week
